Knowledge Transfer and Education
Knowledge Transfer and Education
About the mission
An including collaborative environment around teaching with open sharing of knowledge and ideas will ensure the best possible frames for novel thinking and will be encouraging and motivating.
We base all our study programmes on the unique PBL-based education at Aalborg University ensuring that we educate the best candidates in Energy Engineering for society. We have demonstrated strongholds in innovation providing many candidates initiating start-ups in the field of green energy (see for instance the Iris Group). Our open collaborative environment in teaching, supervision and with industry reflect the same ideas.
We are currently looking into EU-project collaborations within case based learning and micro credentials involving the industry. We see a demand from industry for further training due to the very rapid development in the energy field. Furthermore, life-long learning is another topic we are engaging in. The purpose is here two-fold: We can educate people from industry, and they might also obtain the level required to take part in Ph.d. courses at the department. This might include energy islands, including both techniques from offshore wind power and power to x technologies, as well as carbon capture to ensure circularity. The plan is to involve our PBL academy to ensure SSH-competencies on the didactical aspects. We have offered to be project leader on such actions in the framework of the Call HORIZON-CL5-2021-D3-02-02 and several European universities have expressed their interest in this.
Collaborations are performed in the form of:
- Research collaborations in the field of teaching and dissemination (internally/externally).
- Internal collaboration at the department and interdisciplinarily across departments and faculties (AAU and others).
- Collaborations with schools and high schools and other collaborations promoting the STEM-agenda and the green energy transition.
- Colloborations with authorities and authority services.
To continously develop the highest quality and robust educations and dissemination at Department of Energy based upon societal needs.
Establish a motivating collaborative problem-based learning environment among lecturers and the study-team to ensure robust and continuously updated education of highest quality.
Disseminate knowledge to the public contributing to the Danish energy transition and STEM-education of pupils and teachers at all levels.
Collaborate with and strengthening Danish industry and knowledge institutions through research-based education ensuring a stronger link between research and education.
Contribute to research in the field of education and dissemination.
