REpower DK 2024: A Secure and Resilient Energy System

The national energy capacity is growing but there is a large flux in flow. We have more power outages, as the national grid meets an ever rising electrification as well as a demand for local and consumer grid supply. REpower DK 2024 is an event focused on challenges and solutions in energy balancing in Denmark.

Aim of the Day

Join us at Aalborg University for REpower DK 2024. This year we dive into the challenges and solutions related to energy balancing and security of the energy system. Our focus will be on accommodating the huge integration of solar and wind power, development of power2x systems as well as the electrification of the heating and transportation sector, while at the same time ensuring reliability and security of the systems, which includes supervision and control of the energy infrastructures and systems.

This event sets the stage for crucial knowledge sharing and networking.  We hope REpower DK 2024 will foster a collaborative environment where experts, students, and industry leaders can exchange insights and ideas.

Meet key players and researchers

As a leading forum for some of the most ambitious energy research, Aalborg University welcomes everyone with an interest in the national energy agenda and the science behind it.

We are inviting business associates, collaborators, alumni and researchers in the national energy agenda and the science behind it to take part in a day filled with keynotes, themed sessions, lab tours, a pitch event, and a panel discussion.

This year’s theme is A Secure and Resilient Energy System.

An invitation for dialogue

As the Vice Head of AAU ENERGY, I am thrilled to extend to you a warm invitation to join us at the upcoming event, REpower DK 2024, under the timely theme of "A Secure and Resilient Energy System."

In a world where the dynamics of energy are rapidly evolving, it has become imperative to not only adapt but also to proactively shape the future of our energy systems. At REpower DK 2024, we aim to delve into the pressing challenges and innovative solutions in energy balancing, particularly within the Danish context. The fluctuating energy flow, the rise in power outages, and the increasing demand for both local and consumer grid supply underscore the urgency of our mission.

This year, we are focusing on strengthening our national grid to support the escalating demands from electric vehicles, heat pumps, and renewable energy sources such as solar panels, wind turbines, and large-scale batteries. The aim is clear: A future energy system that is not just efficient, but also resilient and sustainable.

At our event we invite you to engage with experts, PhD students, and industry leaders to exchange insights and pioneer solutions. We hope you'll join the dialogue and exploration at REpower DK 2024. Your contribution is not just welcomed; it is essential for shaping a future where energy security and resilience are not just ideals, but realities.

As a leader in ambitious energy research, Aalborg University is excited to welcome all those who share an interest in our national energy agenda and the science that propels it. Whether you are a business associate, collaborator, alumni, researcher, or simply an enthusiast in the field, your presence and participation are invaluable to us.

I eagerly look forward to welcoming you to Aalborg University for a day of knowledge, networking, and inspiration.

Yours sincerely,

- Professor Birgitte Bak-Jensen, Vice Head of AAU ENERGY,
Aalborg University
